6. The Golden Fleece
Oil on paper on canvas, 168x234 cm

A Brig and a Brigantine sail in a sea of knots which cover the surface of the work while two large institutional buildings, a Golden Pavillion and the Adelaide Casino, stretch across the painting. The sheep from the old two dollar note dominates and directly inferrs the old currency of the Wool Industry and living off the sheeps back. The suggestion that Australia had been 'fleeced' by corporate gambling during the eighties after the deregulation of the banks is intended. Aboriginal images of the coat of arms indicates their indigenous status.
