> Exhibition > 2001 Greenaway Art Gallery, Adelaide 5. For a Flying Instructor oil on paper on hardboard (3 panels), 204 x 216 cm I discovered, halfway into this painting that it was about my father who had died some months before. He had been a Royal Australian Air Force flying instructor stationed at Uran Quinty NSW during the second world war and although being a highly disciplined man was capable of emotional extremes. - Ian Chandler |
